赤壁怀古英译

The Big River flows east,
whose waves wash away,
all the heroes eons past.
West of the old castle,
they say there,
is the Red Cliff of Chief Zhou.
Rocks rise like clouds,
waves crack the bank,
thousand heaps of snow piled.
The picturesque rivers and mountains,
how many lords once gathered.

Recalling when Zhou the warrior,
married Qiao the younger,
how cool he was then! [ magnificent was he then]
Fan in hand and no armor worn,
he flamed the enemy fleet,
chatting and laughing!
My spirit touring the place,
I should be laughed at,
for my sentimental white hair. [grey hair]
Life's like a dream,
this cup of wine I pour to the river moon.

每年来武汉,从未去过赤壁。也只是神游而已。
